Happy Thanksgiving to you all! May your day be filled with friends, family, and yummy food!
Everyone celebrates this holiday differently. Some have long-lasting family traditions that have carried on through the generations, others may choose to spend this day with friends, pets, or whoever they hold close!
Thanksgiving dates back to the 1600s when the Plymouth colonists and the Wampanoag shared an autumn harvest feast in 1621 that is acknowledged today as one of the first Thanksgiving celebrations in the colonies.
It was until over two centuries later, in 1863 in the midst of the Civil War that President Abraham Lincoln made it a national holiday to be held every November.
What do you have to be thankful for this year? Family? Friends? A warm house and a roof over your head? There's so much to be thankful for, and sometimes we take the smaller things for granted. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
