Happy Boss's Day!

National Boss's Day is this Saturday, October 16, and what better way is there to celebrate than by having the day off work! Kind of funny that boss's day happened to land on Saturday this year.

National Boss's Day came to be in 1958 when Patricia Bays Haroski registered "National Boss' Day" with the US Chamber of Commerce. Patricia worked for her father at his State Farm insurance company in Illinois and chose October 16th which was her father's birthday.

The purpose of designating this special day in the workplace is to show the appreciation for her bosses she thought they deserved. This was also a strategy to attempt to improve intra-office relationships between managers and their employees. Haroski believed that young employees sometimes did not understand the hard work and dedication that their supervisors put into their work and the challenges they faced.

So before you leave the office this Friday, make sure to thank your boss for everything they do!
